WEBINAR: Taking Autism To the Library In-Person

The Autism Society of North Carolina will present a workshop for youth services public library staff with foundational information on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and strategies to engage youth with ASD in programming.

Each workshop has the following goals:

  • To build a better understanding of what ASD is;
  • To explore some of the possible reasons an individual with ASD may react differently;
  • To develop a broader understanding of why and how information may need to be presented in a more structured way;
  • To review some basic strategies that can be implemented that day;
  • Strategies to use in the library setting to help support those on the spectrum.

While this workshop is primarily for youth services staff, any library staff member is welcome to attend. Registration is limited to 30 participants at each location.

UPDATE: This workshop has been moved online. See the information below to join.
