The Business Librarianship in NC (BLINC) NCLA Section will hold this free and open-to-all BLINC summer workshop at Elon University on August 2. Everyone is welcome.
The main agenda items are our two guest speakers. By popular request, ReferenceUSA Senior Account Representation Dave Turner will be flying in from Omaha to talk to us for 90 minutes. And ProQuest/ABI-INFORM Business Content Manager Jo-Anne Hogan will be flying down from London, Ontario for a 90-minute discussion. We will have lunch in the middle. The remainder of the workshop will be networking and sharing.
For both Dave and Jo-Anne, our main topics of discussion will be the nature of their content acquisition, licensing issues, and quality control. We should learn more about how these databases work, how they get their information and data, plans for future content, etc.
9:30-10: Networking over morning snacks
10-10:30: Introductions & updates from participants
10:30-12:00: Discussion with ReferenceUSA Senior Account Representation Dave Turner
12-1:30: We will walk over to Elon's little commercial district for lunch
