Session 1: Real-World Business Research: Case Studies and Tools for Supporting Entrepreneurs with BLINC and NC LIVE

Supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs requires access to reliable data, market insights, and industry trends. In this session, NC LIVE and BLINC (Business Librarianship in North Carolina) will showcase key business research tools available through NC LIVE, including ProQuest ABI/INFORM Collection, Data-Axle Reference Solutions, and Social Explorer. 

Attendees will learn advanced search strategies, explore real-world case studies, and discuss best practices for assisting entrepreneurs and small business owners in their communities. Whether you're working with students, startups, or established businesses, this session will equip you with the skills to provide high-impact business research support.

Attendees will also discover best practices for desk interactions and teaching patrons how to use online collections. Whether you're looking to increase awareness of your digital offerings or improve usage statistics, this session will provide practical tools and insights to help you make the most of your library’s e-resources.

Learn about the platforms' user-friendly interfaces, exclusive content from producers like HBO and BBC, and the educational value these resources bring to both public libraries and academic settings. We'll also cover key features such as MARC record integration and curriculum-based organization.
