$ Box Making: Creating Custom Housing for Artifacts (NC Preservation Consortium) In-Person
Knowing the basics of creating custom housing for artifacts can save your institution both time and money. Archival board can be cut and shaped to a specific size and then combined with other preservation appropriate materials, including cotton fabric and Ethaform, to craft supportive storage mounts. You will learn how to Measure properly, design protective housing, score with a bone folder, cut with snap-blade knives, find inexpensive tool substitutes, and use proper adhesives.
