New NC LIVE Basics - Public Library edition (State Library of NC) In-Person
This new, full day hands-on workshop is for NC library staff who want to learn about NC LIVE resources and search strategies likely to meet the needs of your public library staff and patrons. While this session is focused on public library users, staff from all types of NC libraries are welcome to attend. This session is led by Master Trainer, Martha Sink. The workshop will cover ProQuest Central, SIRs, Gale Literature Resource Center, Reference USA, Learning Express, and more!
At the end of the session, participants will:
- KNOW about the resources that are available from NC LIVE
- BE ABLE to decide which resource to use and to use it effectively
- FEEL comfortable choosing and using NC LIVE resources for yourself and with your patrons and students
Prerequisites:
This is a hands-on technology workshop. Participants are expected to have mastered the basic computer and Internet competencies.
Registration:
- Registration is limited; a waiting list will be established when the class is full.
- The registration fee for this workshop has been waived.
- A box lunch will be provided to registered attendees. Please indicate your lunch preferences on the registration form.

- The workshop will be held at the Hickory Grove Branch Library (Charlotte Mecklenburg Library), located at 5935 Hickory Grove Road, Charlotte.
